Application and Process


BioLogiQ's NuPlastiQ ® biopolymer is designed to be manufactured by blending with other thermoplastic resins on general processing equipment。

The process is broadly the same as the existing process, but requires fine-tuning of process conditions, such as processing temperature。


How do we turn plants into plastic



BioBlend ® manufacturing

BioBlends® are made by modifying BioLogiQ's NuPlastiQ ® resin with other traditional fossil fuel-based resins。BioBlends are usually formed by blending 50% NuPlastiQ ® and 50% petrochemical fuel resin on standard modification equipment,BioBlends were then diluted with more fossil fuels before production,Obtain the NuPlastiQ ® content required for the final product。

Example: For a typical film application, a BioBlend blend containing 50% NuPlastiQ ® and 50% LLDPE resin is dry mixed with an additional 50% LLDPE resin into a film blowing drum。After successful blowing, the final content ratio in the finished film is 25% NuPlastiQ ® and 75% LLDPE, and the other ratios can be easily achieved in the final product by appropriately adjusting the dry mix formula。

For customers in Asia and China, BioLogiQ will provide testing and subsequent production of BioBlend ® modified masterbatches directly from our shaoguan facility in China。Please contact us to discuss your specific needs。



NuPlastiQ ® bio-based polymers can be added to many different film applications, including, for example, bag, agricultural and industrial packaging films。

Films containing NuPlastiQ ® can be manufactured on standard film blowing equipment。NuPlastiQ ® has successfully mixed various specifications of LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, PBAT, PLA, PHA and other films。 The thinnest NuPlastiQ ®/LLDPE film can reach 2.54 微米(0.1 mil) film。 NuPlastiQ generally increases bubble stability and increases the strength of the blow-molded film。

For best results, we will start the film with 50% NuPlastiQ ® BioBlend masterbatch。The masterbatch is dry-mixed with additional resin to make the final ratio of NuPlastiQ ® in any particular layer of monolayer or multilayer film intermediate between 15% and 40%。We have developed the following film processing guidelines for initial product trials。

Blow molded bottles containing NuPlastiQ ® BioBlend ® can be used in health and beauty products such as lotion bottles。 Adding NuPlastiQ ® bio-based polymers to HDPE or PP blow molding bottles increases product sustainability。You can reduce the amount of fossil fuel without sacrificing performance。




Sheet extrusion and blister forming

Polypropylene and polystyrene are common materials in thermoforming products such as cups, LIDS and packaging for electronic components。The use of NuPlastiQ BioBlend ® increases the sustainability of these products without sacrificing appearance or performance。


Injection molding

NuPlastiQ BioBlends® masterbatches can be used in standard injection molding equipment to manufacture a wide range of products, such as cups, tableware, and custom designed plastic parts。The use of NuPlastiQ BioBlend ® increases the sustainability of these products without sacrificing appearance or performance。




Other process

In addition to the above standard manufacturing process, BioLogiQ can provide customized NuPlastiQ products in your proprietary manufacturing process。
